Anyone who works in the workshop knows the moment: The screw is stuck, you apply pressure, turn, and then the screwdriver slips off. The screw head is stripped, the hand is scraped. A short repair turns into a long one, and the next tool ends up back in the shopping basket.
Cheap tools that become expensive
The cause usually lies in the tool itself. Cheap blades and tips do not fit precisely into the screw and yield under load. After a few uses, the edges are rounded, and the tool slips off even faster.
Sometimes it works with more force. But then screw heads, parts, and hands suffer, and in the end, the cheap tool costs more than a good one.
The solution: Tools from PB Swiss Tools
The story of PB Swiss Tools began in 1878 in a village forge in Wasen in the Emmental, where, among other things, nose rings for oxen were produced. Today, all products are exclusively developed and manufactured in Wasen and Sumiswald, just a few kilometres from us in Trub.pbswisstoolsbls
For the blades, PB uses an exclusively manufactured alloy that is hard, very durable, and at the same time elastic. Additionally: Thanks to in-house production and ongoing quality control, PB offers a lifetime guarantee on material and manufacturing defects. economic forumplant automation technology
This brings you three things:
- No slipping: The tool fits snugly in the screw and transfers the force where it belongs.
- No constant replacement purchases: Blades and tips maintain their shape even after many uses.
- Work more safely: Less slipping means less danger for hands and fingers.
Three tips from our workshop
- Choose the right profile: A cross slot is not just a cross slot. Phillips (PH) and Pozidriv (PZ) look similar but do not fit each other. The wrong profile is one of the most common reasons for stripped screws.
- Pressure before rotation: Position the tool straight, press down firmly first, and only then turn. This keeps the tip in the screw head.
- Use tools only for their intended purpose: A screwdriver is not a chisel and not a lever. Those who work this way will damage even the best tools.
