What distinguishes used parts from new and replacement parts, how we check them and how you can find the right spare part number.
Anyone who maintains an older tractor knows the moment: The cause of the damage is found, the defective part has been removed. Then comes the price for the new part. Or the news that it is no longer available. The tractor is standing still, the work is waiting, and suddenly the question arises: Is the repair even worth it?
One part, three options
For most spare parts, there are three ways.
The new part from the manufacturer fits perfectly and is unused. However, it is often expensive, and for older models, it may sometimes no longer be available.
The replacement part is manufactured by another manufacturer based on the original. It is often cheaper than the new part. Fit and quality depend on the respective manufacturer.
The used part is a used original part. It was built for your tractor and has proven itself in use. It costs less than a new part and is often still available even when there are no new ones left.
Which choice is correct depends on the part. Wear parts such as seals, filters, or bearings are best replaced with new ones. Larger components like oil pans, cylinder heads, housings, or linkage parts hardly wear out. For them, a second-hand part is often the most sensible solution.
The solution: tested second-hand parts
In the LT shop, we offer second-hand parts from New Holland, Fiat, Ford, Case IH, and Steyr. Before a part comes into the shop, we check it ourselves. [Add inspection steps, e.g., visual inspection, measurements, function.] Our many years of experience with tractor spare parts helps us in this.
The parts are in stock with us and are shipped directly to you. New items are continuously added. This also conserves resources: a proven component is reused instead of being disposed of.
This brings you three things
- Lower price, same fit: An original part fits as intended, and you pay less than for a new part.
- Quickly back in use: The part is available from stock. The tractor is idle for less time.
- Parts that are no longer available new: Even for older models, you will find rare and no longer available spare parts with us.
Three tips from our workshop
- Search for the part number on the old part: Many parts have an embossed or stamped number. Clean the area thoroughly before reading. With this number, you can find the part in the shop the fastest.
- Note the exact engine and vehicle designation: For engine parts, the complete designation counts, for example 8035.06 instead of just 8035. Parts that look the same may differ between variants.
- Compare before installation: Place the old and the new part side by side. Check holes, connections, and dimensions. Keep the old part until the new one is installed and running.
