    When starting into the decelerating engine, the starter is subjected to forces that are much greater than during a normal starting process.
    This can cause damage to the starter components or even break the drive shaft.
    This is deliberately the weakest link in the drive train of the starter in order to avoid consequential damage on a larger scale.
    Remedy conversion to a start blocking relay.
