    In the diesel engine, combustion gases pass the piston and the piston rings into the crankcase during the combustion process. These so-called harmful blow-by gases are specified by engine manufacturers as 0.5-1.5% of the combustion air volume.

    For example, an uncontrolled overpressure in the crankcase will result in oil leaks at the shaft sealing rings (turbo)!
