    How to test the air conditioner thermostat relay?
    Solution
    The pin assignment of the air conditioner relay (part number 84402860) is necessary for troubleshooting.

    See the attachment. It contains:

    The pin function of the air conditioning relay
    An internal wiring diagram
    A diagram showing the control logic from the relay. The relay has an input from the temperature controller potentiometer and the evaporator temperature sensor. These inputs control the power output to pin 1 to the A/C compressor clutch.
    Pin assignment of the relay connector shown in the appendix:

    Pin 1 - power supply to the air conditioner
    Pin 2 - not connected
    Pin 3 - +12 supply to relay
    Pin 4 - temperature controller potentiometer
    Pin 5 - temperature controller potentiometer
    Pin 6 - Ground
