Check the air conditioning pressure switch.
There are two switches inside the A/C high pressure switch (part number 84233818). These switches open and close under specified pressure and pressure changes.
The inner switch between pins 3 and 4 closes at 18 bar (261 psi) and opens when the pressure drops below 15 bar (218 psi).
The inner switch between pins 1 and 2 opens when the pressure rises above 28 bar (391 psi) or drops below 2.6 bar (38 psi).
Check the high pressure switch while it is installed in the tractor as follows:
Operate the air conditioner and observe the high pressure.
Leave the pressure switch connector in its position and connect pins 1 and 2 of the connector. To connect the pins, place a probe in the back of the connector in each pin and attach a jumper cable over the probes.
Place a probe in the back of the connector on pin 3 of the pressure switch connector and check for 12 volts. There should be 12 volts on pin 3 after the pressure has risen above 18 bar (261 psi).
Switch off the air conditioner.
Disconnect the high pressure switch connector and jumper pin 1 to 2 and pins 3 to 4 on the tractor harness side to allow the air conditioner to operate.
Switch on the air conditioner. Monitor the high pressure.
Check for current continuity between pins 1 and 2 of the pressure switch on the pressure switch connector. There is continuity between pins 1 and 2 as long as the air conditioner is running and the pressure is between 2.6 bar (38 psi) and 28 bar (391 psi). If this continuity check is unsuccessful, replace the switch.
Check for current continuity between pins 3 and 4 of the pressure switch. There should be current continuity when the pressure rises above 18 bar (261 psi). The switch opens when the pressure drops below 15 bar (218 psi). If this continuity test is unsuccessful, replace the switch.
After completing the test, restore the electrical connections in the tractor to their normal condition.
If the high pressure switch passes these tests, there is a cause other than the high pressure switch if the air conditioner is not working properly.
