    If cooling problems occur, check viscous fan, replace if necessary or replace with mechanical fan 5198172

    Checking the viscous coupling
    If it is suspected that the viscous coupling is not working properly, it should be checked as follows:
    Using an electronic strobe tachometer, determine the speed of the fan when it is on, while the engine is running at approximately 1800rpm and the engine coolant temperature is above that of the normal operating range.
    If the fan speed is less than 85% of the fan pulley speed, the unit is not working properly and should be replaced.
