Product information:
This service bulletin informs that in September 2015, the previously used ethylene glycol-based engine coolant was replaced in production by engine coolant with organic additive technology (OAT). This change applies to all vehicles from the Erenler plant in Turkey.
The OAT engine coolant is YELLOW, while the former ethylene glycol coolant is BLUE.
NEVER mix OAT engine coolant with the previous ethylene glycol engine coolant or vice versa.
Under no circumstances should a cooling system filled with OAT coolant be topped up with conventional engine coolant.
The optimum ratio between OAT coolant and water is 50/50. At this concentration, the cooling system is protected down to -37 °C.
The concentration of the OAT coolant can be determined with a refractometer for measuring ethylene glycol. For optimum protection, the pH value of the mixture should be between 7.0 and 9.0.
NEW HOLLAND recommends the use of distilled or deionised water in the engine cooling system.
DO NOT use:
- hard water
- softened water (water treated with salt)
- seawater
Minerals and salts from these water sources can cause corrosion and/or deposits. Corrosion and/or deposits will result in a shortened life of the motor.
