INCORRECT FUEL LEVEL INDICATION
On machines with analogue/digital instrument panel (ADIC), improvements have been made to ensure accurate fuel level indication. This ensures that the tractor does not stop due to an incorrectly displayed level.
The modified ADIC software version 03.06.00.00. was introduced into production from serial number ZBBD13281.
For machines before the affected serial number:
The fuel level sensor (LAP swivel arm version) originally used on these models (swivel arm version), illustration is not affected by this and is not interchangeable with the newer Montel fuel level sensor (dip tube version), illustration.
The Montel fuel level sensor was introduced into production as follows:
4 cyl. 176 litres Without Z9BD11360
6 cyl. 250 litres Without Z9BD11392
4 cyl. 176 litres With Z9BD11524
6 cyl. 250 litres With Z9BD11388
4 cyl. 152 litres Without Not applicable
6 cyl. 230 litres Without Z9BD11469
4 cyl. 152 litres With Z9BD11642
6 cyl. 230 litres With Z9BD11050
Configuration options for ADIC
Carry out the next steps
- Download the modified ADIC software version 03.06.00.00 or higher to ADIC. This software is available from EST version 7.0.0.0.
- The fuel level sensor must be configured after downloading the software.
- Tractors with ADIC can be equipped with the original fuel level sensor LAP
(swing arm version) or with the Montel fuel level sensor (dip tube version).
- In ADIC, it must be configured whether it is a 4-cylinder or 6-cylinder engine (due to the different fuel tank capacity and profile) and whether the fuel level sensor is swivel arm (LAP)or Montel.
Two configuration options are possible:
1. select the "fuel station symbol" in the H menu HK or HJ-H3 for configuration.
Select the appropriate transmitter by pressing the hour button (until an acoustic signal sounds) from the following options: LAP "Yes" or "No"
MTL1 (Montel1); encoder currently used in production.
6 C (6-cylinder engine)
4 C (4-cylinder engine)
NO
MTL2 (Montel2); not yet used in production
6 C (6-cylinder engine)
4 C (4-cylinder engine)
NO

2 Use EST configuration Set up electronics box H3, reference 21.5, and configure:
- LAP
or
- Montel1, 4- or 6-cylinder engine, and send the changed values to the electronics box.
Montel1, 4- or 6-cylinder engine is currently used in production.
NOTE: If the wrong sensor version (MTL 1 or MTL 2) is set for the fuel level sensor, ADIC will show full when the fuel tank is empty or vice versa.
NOTE: A new fuel level sensor with an increased measuring range will be introduced into production towards the end of the year. This will be called the Montel2 sender and the following configuration will then apply: Montel2, 4- or 6-cylinder engine (please note that this sender has not yet been introduced into production).
Distinction between Montel fuel level sensor and future Montel fuel level sensor
The Montel fuel level sensor has a white connector.
The Montel fuel level sensor has a black connector.
Only the latest fuel level sensor version is available from spare parts logistics.
