Attention injection quantity reduction for Fiat 550
This is an alternative pump to the no longer repairable hydraulically controlled Bosch version.
Injection lines, throttle actuation, shut-off via ignition lock must all be adapted.
Removal of the injection pump:
1 Remove rear left end cover (flywheel) M8 nut.
2 Remove front right end cover (6xM8 screws).
3 Turn engine in direction of rotation until INIEZ CAV flywheel marking is aligned.
(Marking no. 4 must correspond with the intermediate gear in the front of the engine control box. (Working stroke of 1 cylinder))
4 Remove injection pipes, fuel pipes and throttle linkage.
5 Loosen the large nut on the injection pump (acts as a pull) until the gear falls off the cone.
6 Remove the injection pump's M8 fixing nuts and pull out the pump.
Installation :
1 Position the engine on the markings as described above.
2 Apply new injection pump to the connection of the first cylinder (W=3 cylinder engines) (X=4 cylinder engines) with a nozzle tester and build up pressure 30-40 bar.

3 Marking A on the rotor of the injection pump must now coincide with the ground edge of the circlip! (start of injection)
4 Install the injection pump (M14x1.5=70Nm) Injection pump fixing nuts M8 (25Nm)
5 Turn the engine back approx. 1/4 turn, then turn again in the direction of engine rotation until the INIEX CAV is in line with the edge of the circlip of the injection pump A. If necessary
Loosen pump and turn accordingly until markings match !
6 Fit all pipes, linkage, cover and bleed the injection system.
7 Turn the engine by hand (final check).
8 Start engine.
9 If necessary, fine-tune the engine brake (direction of arrow on injection pump = later start of injection).
