Warranty conditions
12 months manufacturer's warranty from date of delivery.
The warranty expires if,
- The installation is not carried out by a qualified professional.
- The pump is opened or otherwise tampered with.
- If the wrong or contaminated operating materials are used.
The LT-Shop does not assume any assembly and disassembly costs.
Product information:
The following faults may occur at ambient temperatures of -15°C or when the engine block has cooled down
1. the injection pump is leaking in the area of the SV piston covers or KSB.
The leakage stops when the engine reaches normal operating temperature.
2. engine does not start or stalls after starting.
Troubleshooting
If one or both faults occur, replace the standard seals with the following new seals.
Drive shaft seal 20x31x7.3 9968111
O-rings 9968113 +9971754 (SV piston cover) (KBS cover) (KBS shaft)
Pumps that have been converted accordingly are marked with a letter on the pump flange!
Correct the injection setting in the workshop manual for series F5C/F5A engines.
Specifications for injection setting of the fuel injection pump.
The injection pump injection adjustment procedure for Series F5A and F5C IVECO engines differs from the static injection pump injection adjustment procedure described on page 22 of the Case engine repair manual 87693888 and the New Holland engine repair manual 87693890 for F5A and F5CE engines.
The engine workshop manuals show the incorrect advance mechanism on page 22, section 3. The manuals illustrate the hydraulic early adjustment mechanism (KKSB). The F5A and F5C engines with Bosch VE injection pump currently set the wax engine cold start advance mechanism (KSB) and provide six degrees of advance for cold starts.
Setting the injection pump timing:
Turn the engine clockwise as viewed from the front of the engine. Turn the engine flywheel to TDC of cylinder number 1 using the engine turning tool (part number 380000732) with adapter plate (part number 380000988) and the following conditions are met.
The timing adjustment notch is visible from the inspection window.
On F5A engines, the tool (part number 380000150) is inserted through the guard plate into the hole on the flywheel housing (exhaust manifold side).
On F5C engines, the tool (part number 380000150) is inserted through the guard plate into the hole in the flywheel.
To measure the stroke of the injection pump plunger in relation to the TDC of the engine:
Use a dial gauge (tool part number 380000228) together with the adapter (tool part number 380001601).
NOTE: It is extremely important that you energise the KSB (wax motor) with a 12-volt supply at least five minutes before checking the injection pump injection setting. This will remove the six-degree cold start advance on the pump.
1. remove the piston access plug in the centre from the rear cap of the injection pump.
2. install the injection pump timing adjustment adapter tool (part number 380001601) and the pin in the hole. Tighten the adapter.
3. ensure that the KSB early adjustment is retarded with the arm pushed forwards (towards the front of the pump) almost against the stop.
4. insert the dial gauge (special tool part number 380000228) into the guide tube and pretension the dial gauge needle by 2.5 mm. Pull the end of the shaft outwards and release it to ensure that the dial gauge needle moves freely and does not jam. The dial gauge needle must move freely immediately. If it does not, reposition the dial indicator until the needle moves freely in the shaft. 5.
5. turn the motor anti-clockwise (as seen from the front of the motor), observe the dial gauge needle drop to the minimum reading and the end of the movement. It is now in the valley between two cams.
6. set the dial of the dial gauge with the indicator needle to zero.
7. turn the engine clockwise (as seen from the front of the engine) until the locking pin falls into the hole in the flywheel and locks the engine at TDC. Ensure that the reading on the dial gauge matches the technical data below. Dial gauge readings correspond to engine power in kW as listed below.
This measurement is the stroke that the injection pump plunger moves when the flywheel is turned to TDC (Top Dead Centre).

8. if necessary, loosen the fixing screws of the injection pump and turn the injection pump housing until you obtain the correct dial gauge reading.
9. check the start of injection again. This is necessary because play in the engine control unit can influence the start of injection. When you are sure that you have set the injection start correctly, tighten the fixing screws of the injection pump to 24 Nm. 10.
10. remove the 12-volt jumper cable from the KSB.
11 Remove the dial gauge and the adapter.
12. install the piston access plug and tighten it to a torque of 28 Nm.
13 Remove the TDC locking pin from the flywheel. 14.
14. remove the engine turning tool (part number 380000732) and the adapter plate (part number 380000988) from the engine.
