Cylinder Head Gasket 114.70mm Turbo Reinforced

All 6 cylinder 7.5 litre engines
A new reinforced cylinder head gasket (laminated steel) has been fitted. Identification feature: small hollow rivets. For the conversion to the reinforced version, new cylinder head bolts and a new angle of rotation controlled tightening procedure are required. The new gasket, the new cylinder head bolts and the new tightening procedure were introduced in production from engine serial number 846528.

Tightening procedure with new bolts.
1 Tighten all bolts in the prescribed sequence (spirally from inside to outside) with a tightening torque of 55 Nm.
2 Same procedure as above but this time with 95 Nm.
3 Retighten all bolts by 90° using an angle measuring disc.
4 This only applies to the long bolts on the rocker arm brackets. Retighten these screws by a further 45°. Again, tighten in a spiral from the inside to the outside.
