EQUIPPED WITH DUAL COMMAND GEARBOXES
SPACING OF GEAR AND GROUP SELECTOR STATUS SWITCHES (87585979/87585980)
The lights on the Dual Command Hi/Lo gearboxes may illuminate alternately.
This problem is caused by the gear lever activating the status switches when selecting the gear or group. This is due to insufficient distance between the pins of the status switches and the gear or group shift lever.
As an interim solution, two copper washers (part number: 10280060) are fitted between the status switches and the gear lever cover, replacing the original seal with rubber insert (5169544).
This was introduced into production from the following serial numbers:
Series 4000: Z7JA01001 (from the first production).
Series TNA (STD), TNDA, TNSA: HJE108387
Series TNNA, TNVA: HJB108336
Series TNFA: HJU108354
The two built-in copper washers provide the required additional clearance.
As a final solution, improved gear and group selector covers have been introduced into production from the following serial numbers:
4000 series: Z8JA08719
Series 4000F: Z8JD08701 (from the first production)
Series TNA (STD), TNDA, TNSA: HJE117767
Series TNNA, TNVA: HJB117675
Series TNFA: HJU117676
On the new gearshift covers (87747940/87747943) the seats of the status switches have been made 1.5 mm deeper. (Greater material thickness for the threaded holes).
This measure ensures the required distance between the pins of the status switches when selecting a gear or group.
For machines before the listed serial numbers with the intermediate solution applies:
If the dual-command Hi/Lo gear lights come on alternately, it is recommended that the status switches for gear and group selection be removed and checked for proper operation. Replace faulty status switches (87585979/87585980).
As a field solution, install two copper washers (part number: 10280060) between the status switches and the switch cover, and replace the original gasket with rubber insert.(5169544)
The two installed copper washers provide the necessary additional clearance so that a new switch cover does not have to be installed.
