Improvements to the master brake cylinder 82018664 to prevent loss of braking power Series 35/L/TL/JXU
One or both brake pedals go all the way to the floor (loss of braking effect).
If a piston of the brake master cylinder is not in the fully idle position, the equalising line is open. This allows pressurised oil from the master cylinder to be drained directly into the brake fluid reservoir.
Replace the existing master cylinders with the new master cylinder 84558759

On tractors with master cylinders 82006194, a total loss of brake pressure can occur if the driver leaves his foot on one brake pedal, exerting slight pressure, and then presses the other brake pedal. This condition is caused by the master cylinder connection to the equalising line being partially open. The partially open connection allows the oil in the equalising line to reach the brake oil reservoir. When the other brake pedal is then depressed, instead of building up pressure, the oil simply flows through the equalisation line and through the partially open connection of the other brake master cylinder into the reservoir.
Result = pedal on the floor - no braking power.
The new Bosch master cylinder opens the connection to the equalising line in a raised piston travel position. This prevents the pressurised oil from flowing back into the reservoir.
In some cases, it has been found that air can enter the brake master cylinder 82018664 when the brakes are applied. To prevent this, a new brake master cylinder has been introduced into production.
The new master cylinder has improved sealing properties, a revised lip seal and an additional sliding seal.
