    Product information:

An unknown number of early production Case IH JXU and New Holland TLA series tractors were built with the incorrect brake reservoir cap. The incorrect cap has the words ‘refill with PUNKT-4 oil’ stamped into the top of the cap.

Discard this cap and replace it with cap part number 87306500.

The correct oil to use in the Case IH JXU and TLA is LHM brake oil based on mineral oil (petroleum).

LHM brake fluid is not compatible with Dot3 and Dot4 brake fluids, these fluids are glycol based.

Filling or topping up the brake fluid reservoir of a machine using LHM brake fluid with DOT-3 or DOT-4 brake fluid will cause severe damage to the brake master cylinder seals, all hoses, brake valves and brake piston seals.

If DOT 3/4 brake fluid has been added to the brake fluid reservoir, all brake master cylinder seals and flexible hoses must be replaced. All brake pistons and brake valve seals must be replaced.

Since DOT 3/4 brake fluid is heavier than LHM fluid, it will sink to the bottom of the system. This requires that all components of a contaminated system must be completely removed, disassembled, cleaned and reassembled with new seals.
