Problems with the engine ventilation 2853826
The following problems have been identified regarding the functionality of the engine breather, part number 2853826 inside the cylinder head cover.
Due to improper handling of the breather during installation by the engine manufacturer or during maintenance, the orange valve on the underside of the filter element may be missing.
If the valve is missing, the oil consumption of the machine can be very high and oil can leak in the area around the elbow and the plastic nut on the top of the cylinder head cover.
A new engine breather has been introduced into production for engines from serial number 680563.

The new engine breather features the following changes and improvements:
The new filter control valve (87304663) has an improved spring setting that prevents engine oil from leaking at the valve on the cylinder head cover.
The seat of the filter element (87304662) has been improved and the diameter of the valve's retaining lip has been enlarged to ensure a secure hold of the valve in the seat. This prevents the orange valve from being accidentally pushed out during work or maintenance.

This change requires a new filter elbow (87307807).
If engine venting problems occur, it is recommended that the latest filter control valve, filter element and filter elbow be fitted.

IMPORTANT:
The engine ventilation system must be serviced regularly.
If the maintenance intervals for the engine ventilation are not observed as specified in the operating instructions, the functionality of the ventilation components will be impaired. This will result in visible oil leakage and dirt accumulation on the cylinder head cover around the filter control valve.
