Troubleshooting a power shuttle gearbox that will not move (JXC/TN)
Power shuttle gearbox does not move and no fault codes are displayed.
    Malfunction of the electrical system.

    Information updated February 2007
One, or a combination, of the following problems on tractors equipped with power shuttle transmissions may cause the tractor not to move and no fault codes to display.

    1. seat switch does not communicate with the power shuttle control module.
    2. gear switch does not change state.
    3. range switch does not change state.

Where these symptoms have occurred, proceed as follows:
    1. seat switch circuit is broken and not communicating with the control module that someone is sitting on the seat.
Use the circuit diagram in the relevant workshop manual. Check the corresponding fuse to be sure it is not blown. Check the wiring for current continuity. Check the seat switch to be sure it closes when someone is on the seat. The seat switch circuit can be checked using the Calibration & Diagnostic Tool H5 Menu. See the transmission section in the workshop manual for details. In addition, if the seat switch is not communicating properly with the control module, you can move the tractor by shifting (depressing & releasing) the clutch pedal once. This is a function to enable the tractor to be moved to a suitable place for repair.
    2. the gear switch does not change state when the gear selector lever is shifted from neutral to forward or reverse.
In this case, the control module believes that the gear selector lever is in neutral and the transmission clutch should not be engaged. The tractor will not move. but no error codes are displayed.
Use the H9 menu of the Calibration & Diagnostic Tool to check the gear switch signal to the control module. Replace the switch with the latest part number (see below).

47132658 TNF After serial number 1203065
    47132658 TN,TND,TNS After serial number 1232543

    3. the range switch does not change state when the range selector lever is switched from neutral to one of the ranges.
In this case, the control module believes that the range selector lever is in neutral and the transmission clutch should not be engaged. The tractor will not move. but no error codes are displayed.
Use the H9 menu of the calibration & diagnostic tool to check the range switch signal to the control module. Replace the switch with the latest part number (see below).

If communication between the Powershuttle transmission control module and EST (electronic maintenance tool) or CDU (calibration and diagnostic unit; 380000282) cannot be established,
Communication error of the diagnostic tool or EST.
Diagnostic tool / EST does not communicate with the control module.
Incorrect diagnostic procedure or part defect.

Communication error of the diagnostic tool or EST (display does not light up and does not show the HH menu) may be caused by one or more of the following factors:

No 12 volt power to supply the diagnostic tool.
Incorrect operation by technician during start-up, switch-on.
Defective earthing of the diagnostic tool.
Broken wire or faulty connection within the tool harness or test plug connector.
    Defective power shuttle control module.
Ensure that the diagnostic tool is connected to the BLACK Powershuttle test connector. The tractor may also have a RED test port for front PTO & automatic four-wheel drive and a WHITE test port for the electronic lifter, depending on the build configuration.
After connecting the tool to the correct test port, be sure to press and hold the H menu button before, during and after turning the ignition key to the on position. Press and hold the button for about 2 seconds until the HH menu appears on the tool screen. Then release the button.
Make sure there is a 12-volt power supply to the calibration and diagnostic tool from the main harness. The 12-volt power wire is the brown wire with white stripes that goes to pin number 1 of the tractor diagnostic connector on the main harness. If 12-volts are not present, check the fuse on this wire to make sure it is not blown.
Make sure there is a good ground connection for the diagnostic tool and good current continuity between the black wire to the diagnostic connector and the frame ground. If not, remove the ground connection screw under the fitting to the left of the steering column, clean the frame surface and reinstall the screw.
If the diagnostic tool works on other tractors and the information screen on the diagnostic tool is illuminated, indicating 12-volt power and a good ground connection, replace the control unit. Some modules have previously failed in this manner. However, this problem has been corrected on serial number 1227525. This type of failure can also occur if the tractor is started with jumper cables at an extremely high voltage, such as with a 24-volt jump starter. Also, the module can be damaged if the tractor is accidentally started with the wrong polarity via jumper cables (ground to positive and positive to ground).
