Symptom
Machine does not drive in reverse.
Solution
If a tractor equipped with the 24 X 24 Power Shuttle transmission cannot drive in reverse, it has been determined in some cases that the cause was the absence of the circlip, part number 11070076, which was either not installed during production or forgotten during a transmission repair.
When the circlip is missing, the shaft, part number 5181850, can move forward. This causes a drop in clutch pressure and the shaft (5181850) contacts the hub (part number 5181838) of clutch A. The hub and shaft normally rotate. The hub and shaft normally rotate in opposite directions, but the contact friction prevents this and the tractor does not move in the reverse direction. In this condition the regulated low pressure is normally correct at 16 bar while the clutch pressure at clutch B is too low at 14 bar (203).
If necessary, ensure that the circlip is installed on the shaft.
